LLM Hackathon for Applications in Materials Science & Chemistry

Recently Large-language models (LLMs) have sparked the interest of many scientists for the possibility to enable previously intractable applications. To explore possibilities in materials science and chemistry, we have organize an annual hackathon to showcase LLM applications in materials science and chemistry. In 2023, the results showed 14 examples of LLM applications published in Digital Discovery. In 2024, 34 projects were submitted across 7 on-sites and virtually which can be found in arXiv.
